♥♥♥ TREASURE CLUB DIY ♥♥♥
Clips x Broken Chain

This Treasure Club DIY was extremely simple and one of my favourites because it incorporates one of my favourite keepsakes. Do you remember these? Better yet, did you own a handful as a child (or even more let's be real) I used to wear about 10 or more at once (like this) in my hair as a child, and so did lots of my friends. I used to love butterflies, so as well as holding onto clutter I also kept heaps of these clips in my trinket box as they were my absolute favourite clips as a child.
Basically what you need for this DIY is:
- a hot glue gun
- metal clips (under a dollar from Maria's Beads and Trims if you don't already own any or have any broken clips that you can use)
- clips
- chain (can be broken/missing links)
If you were a child of the nineties and farmilliar with these butterfly clips, you'd be well aware of how easy it was to break them, and how difficult it was to put them back together. This however benefits us as you will need to take apart the clip so that you can glue each side to your blank metal clip. Once you've successfully taken your butterfly clip, place some hot glue on your blank metal clip and glue the butterfly down:
Easy, right? With your chain, measure by eye how much you want your chain to droop and glue the chain to the inside of the metal clip and voila:
The beauty of this is that there isn't all that much you can do with a broken necklace chain, other than fix the chain which if you are like me, rarely ever happens. You can use any knick knack for this DIY, whatever can fit onto the clip really. A good idea for this is old buttons, badges and accents that have fallen off of your old jewellery. I am very excited to see what clips other Treasure Club members had as a child and have held onto all of these years.
